Patrick V. Douglas
Admitted To Practice:
Patrick V. Douglas is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer who has built his career on fighting for justice and standing up for those who need it most. A fourth-generation North Floridian, Patrick’s roots run deep in Lake City, where values of hard work, fairness, and service shaped the lawyer he is today. Patrick is known and trusted in high-stakes litigation for his ability to effectively advocate for his clients every step of the way, including in a trial by jury.
Before founding Douglas & Douglas, Patrick spent years on the other side of the courtroom, defending corporations and insurance companies in cases involving automobile liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, product liability, and employment discrimination. That experience now gives him a distinct advantage—he knows the strategies large companies use and leverages that insight to level the playing field for his clients. His ability to see both sides of a case has led to countless successful outcomes in negotiation, mediation, and at trial.
Patrick’s commitment to the profession extends beyond his own practice. He has served as President of the Third Judicial Circuit Bar Association (2024 - 2025) and as President of the Jacksonville Justice Association (2024) – a non-profit organization of civil justice attorneys that represent those injured by negligence or malpractice with the goal of providing civil justice attorneys with the tools and resources needed to improve and enhance their trial practices. He is also an active member of the Florida Justice Association, where he continues to advocate for policies that protect the rights of Floridians. Patrick is a Board Member and past Chair of the Suwannee Valley Community Foundation supporting community needs in north-Florida. He is also a board member of Changing Homelessness.
His path to the law reflects both drive and service. Patrick earned his Bachelor of Science, with University Honors, from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Business Management (with an English minor), and later his Juris Doctorate from Florida State University. At FSU, he honed his courtroom skills as a member of the Mock Trial Team and broadened his perspective through his work with the Journal of Transnational Law and Policy. In between, he spent two years in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a full-time volunteer—an experience that left him fluent in Spanish and deeply committed to serving others.
Outside the courtroom, Patrick is an avid tennis player, a devoted family man and can be found coaching soccer or t-ball/baseball and cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars. He is widely respected by peers and clients alike for his integrity, tenacity, and unwavering dedication to justice. Clients know him not only as a skilled trial lawyer, but also as a trusted guide—someone who listens, cares, and fights tirelessly to ensure they feel supported every step of the way.
